Acne AND Eye Wrinkles?!

Yep, it’s a double whammy. You probably thought that acne would go away after your teen years, and you wouldn’t have to worry about eye wrinkles until you’re “old.” Then you became an adult and reality sunk in – You can have pimples and wrinkles at the same time! This realization has been known to spur a “Why God?” moment in many adults.

Dry winter air often dehydrates skin, and dehydrated skin is more prone to wrinkles. It’s important to keep your facial skin well-moisturized, especially aging skin which loses moisture over time. A quick and inexpensive way to nourish your skin and boost its moisture is a homemade honey avocado mask. This mask doesn’t contain any special oils and extracts that are only available at specialty food stores. It only requires two ingredients, which may already be in your pantry: honey and avocados.

Honey is a great natural anti aging product. It’s packed with antioxidants, which help fight free radicals that cause signs of aging. It’s also a humectant, which binds moisture to the skin without becoming oily, making skin softer and more youthful-looking. Avocados are also great moisturizers, and they contain vitamins A and E, antioxidants found to be effective at reducing eye wrinkles and improving skin tone. Both honey and avocados also have antibacterial properties, so they help to cleanse your skin as well.

Here’s how to make this simple anti aging moisture mask:

Peel and mash 1/2 of an avocado in a bowl. Then, stir in 1/4 cup of honey. Apply to your skin, and leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm – not hot – water using a washcloth.
