Neutrogena Ageless Restoratives Energy Renewal Hydrating Night Cream
Shape describes this anti aging cream as possessing an “enzyme [that] dissolves dead cells to boost radiance sans stinging.”
This enzyme is Carnitine, which Neutrogena defines as “an active nutrient known to help make skin feel more energized”. Skin cells are constantly being sloughed off the outermost layer of the skin and replaced with new cells, but this skin cell turnover process slows down as we age. Carnitine removes dead skin cells and increases the rate of skin turnover, which results in healthier, younger-looking skin. In addition to its exfoliating benefits, Carnitine has been proven to increase the skin’s hydration levels, which improves elasticity and reduces the appearance of eye wrinkles.
